Curriculum

The curriculum

The school presents a balanced comprehensive curriculum developing skills and providing experiences based on the Victorian Curriculum. Specialist programs include; Performing Arts (Music), Science and Sustainability, LOTE (Japanese) and Library and Literacy Appreciation (MARC).
To further support and enhance the curriculum we offer special programs to address and reflect special needs such as sports clinics, instrumental music, bike education, swimming, camps and excursions. A special feature of our Japanese Language program is our Cultural Exchange Program with the district of Innai in Kyushu, Japan. Resources and equipment to support these programs are being constantly evaluated, revised and updated.
The educational programs and the professional development of the staff continue to be enriched, through regular meetings of staff, professional development activities¬. Nilma is involved with two partnership programs: Speech Pathologists in Schools and Teaching partnership programs. Both programs are building the teaching capacity of teachers and Professional Learning Community within the school.
