The Nilma curriculum

The school presents a balanced comprehensive curriculum developing skills and providing experiences interweaving the strands of the Victorian Essential Learning Standards. Specialist programs include; Information and Communication Technology, Visual Arts, Science, LOTE (Japanese) and Library and literacy appreciation (MARC).
To further support and enhance the curriculum we offer special programs to address and reflect special needs such as sports clinics, woodwork, and instrumental music, bike education, swimming, religious instruction, camps and excursions. A special feature of our L.O.T.E. program is our Cultural Exchange Program with the district of Innai in Kyushu, Japan. Resources and equipment to support these programs are being constantly evaluated, revised and updated.
The educational programs and the professional development of the staff continue to be enriched, through regular meetings of staff, professional development activities¬. Nilma is involved with two coaching programs РTeaching and Learning Coach Initiative and Leadership Program. Both programs are building the teaching capacity of teachers and Performance and Development Culture within the school.
